About the Author: Lee Grace Mathews

Fun memories of the Venice area in the 1970s started it all. Things were simpler then. Not so many people. The sunshine and beachcombing never ended. Frequent family visits over the years further embedded a love of this amazing area. So much nature, coastal lifestyle and historic charm.

As development has sadly impacted land and lifestyle over the decades, Venice's enduring historic charm and lush nature deserve even more recognition today.

It's a heart-felt story that needs to be told. We honor the early homesteaders, city planning and nature conservation that shaped the area so many enjoy today!

I give the Lord all the glory for allowing me to create this book! We are blessed to call Osprey, Florida, our home.
